More than three decades ago, André (Jan Andries) Saaiman started a cardiology practice which evolved into a thriving group practice called SA Endovascular at Netcare Kuilsriver Hospital.

Since its inception, he wholeheartedly devoted himself to his patients, touching countless lives with his compassion. He was a highly experienced interventional cardiologist, cardiac electrophysiologist, and an expert at percutaneous abdominal aneurysm repair.

The success of the SA Endovascular practice stands as a testament to André’s dedication, leadership, and vision, which included not only clinical service delivery, but also extending to the training of cardiologists, physicians, and cardiac technologists.

Sadly, André Saaiman passed away in April 2024, and his untimely death was a great loss to the South African cardiology community. He was succeeded by Dr Pieter van der Bijl and Dr Johan Augustyn as heads of the practice. This practice strives to continue the legacy of Dr Saaiman. We aim to continue his vision; to provide an international-level cardiology service to the surrounding community.
