Dr Pieter van der Bijl gave a number of lectures in Johannesburg on the 14th and 15th of November 2025 at the New Horizons echocardiography course. These focused on using “strain” in echocardiography, assessing the aorta (the largest artery in the body) and diagnosing and treating a patent foramen ovale (“small hole in the heart”).
